Enable or disable detection traps
To configure network access to the monitoring line card, use the following
procedure:
1.
Obtain the MAC address from the label on the front panel of the monitoring
line card.
2.
Log in to the control node as root and edit the /etc/dhcpd.conf file to add
a fixed IP address for the Myrinet line card MAC address. The following
example shows a typical entry in the dhcpd.conf file:
host swmonitor {
hardware ethernet 00:60:dd:7f:57:54;
option host-name "swmonitor";
fixed-address 172.28.0.132;
(Do not use any value in the last dot-quad group that is less than 132.
The values 0–131 are reserved for use in the cluster. If you have multiple
interconnects, use a value of 133 or greater to configure their monitoring line
cards.)
_______________________
The default password when logging on to the control node as root
is hpxchpxc.
3.
To cause the system to read the modified /etc/dhcpd.conf file, enter the
following command:
# service dhcpd restart
The monitoring line card is hot swappable. After the restart command, you
must remove and reseat the monitoring line card before the system can read
the modified /etc/dhcpd.conf file.
4.
Use the following command to check whether the firmware version of the line
card is a supported version:
# links –dump 172.28.0.132/all | grep version
