Get Started This section gives you all the information you need to set up your phone and Sprint service the first time. Your Phone at a Glance The following illustrations outline your phone’s primary external features, keys, and buttons. Front Panel Get Started...
Back Panel Charge Your Phone You must first charge the battery to begin setting up your phone. 1. Plug one end of the USB cable into the AC adapter. 2. Plug the other end of the USB cable into the charger/accessory jack on the bottom panel of your phone.
3. Plug the AC adapter into an electrical outlet. Fully charging a battery may take up to three hours. Note: Your phone’s battery should have enough charge for the device to turn on and find a signal, run the setup application, set up voicemail, and make a call. You should fully charge the battery as soon as possible.
Turn Your Phone Off 1. Press and hold the Power button to open the Power options menu. Note: When the screen is locked and you press the Power button it will only turn off the screen and not the phone. You will need to unlock the screen first before you press and hold the Power button to turn the phone off.
HTC Get Started site and a pair code. On your computer’s Web browser, just go to the URL and enter the pair code to start your Web setup. You need an HTC Account to save your accounts and settings on the Web and download them to your phone.

Turn the Screen Off When Not in Use To quickly turn the screen off, press the Power button. Pressing the Power button again or receiving an incoming call will turn on your phone screen and show the lock screen. Phone Calls Your phone's calling features let your enjoy clear phone calls across the country. Make Phone Calls There are several convenient ways to place calls from your phone. Call Using Smart Dial You can either dial a number directly, or use Smart dial to quickly place a call. Smart dial searches and calls a stored/synced contact or a number from your call history.
To check other phone numbers associated with the contact, touch beside the contact name. If the phone number has an extension, touch after connecting to the main line and then dial the extension number. 4. To hang up, touch END CALL. Change the Phone Dialer Layout Switch between the Smart dial keypad to find contacts with just a few touches and a full screen keypad that gives you more room to enter phone numbers.

People In People, you can easily manage your communications with contacts through phone, messaging, email, and social networks. And, if you have the same contacts from different sources, you can merge their contact information so you won’t have duplicate entries. Your People List The People app lists all contacts stored on your phone and from the online accounts you’re logged in to.
Filter Your People List When your contacts list gets long, you can choose which contact accounts to show. 1. On the PEOPLE tab, touch on the top bar. 2. Select the online accounts that contain the contacts you want to display. 3.
Aside from your contact details, your profile also shows updates you’ve posted on your social networks and your online photo albums. Add Entries to People App You can add new contacts to the People app or add existing ones from your social network or Exchange ActiveSync accounts.

Accounts and Messaging With Sprint service and your phone’s messaging capabilities, you have the opportunity to share information through many different channels and accounts. Gmail You will need a Google Account to access several phone features such as Gmail, Google Maps™, and Google Play.
Note: When setting up a new Google Account, either on your phone or online, you will be prompted to add a secondary email address. Enter a second Gmail address or any other email address from which you currently send and receive email. This address is used to authenticate your account should you ever encounter problems or forget your password.
Tip: Get help in using Gmail by touching > Help. Send a New Gmail Message Create and send an email message from your Gmail Account. 1. Touch > > Google > Gmail. 2. In the inbox of the Gmail account you want to use, touch 3.

Share or Save a Frame From an HTC Zoe Photo When you view an HTC Zoe photo in full screen and touch it (to display the playback controls), you'll see a white dot on the progress bar. The white dot indicates the cover photo, which is the moment when the shutter button was touched when you captured the HTC Zoe photo.
OBJECT REMOVAL. You’ll see frames around areas in the photo where objects have been automatically removed. Tip: To choose a precise moment in an HTC Zoe photo, while viewing the HTC Zoe photo, drag the slider on the progress bar until you see the image you want. You can then remove unwanted objects.
6. If you selected an HTC Zoe photo, you can choose to send it as a still image or a video. If you choose to send it as a still image, the cover photo (the shot that was captured when the shutter was pressed) will be sent.

Encrypt Data on Your Phone You can encrypt data such as your online accounts, settings, music files and other media. After encryption, you will need to enter the screen lock PIN or password to turn on your phone and access the data. Important: Set a lock screen PIN or password before encrypting your data.
Encryption starts and the progress is displayed. The storage card will be unavailable during encryption. You can stop encrypting new files by clearing the File level SD card encryption option.
