AugerControl
Located o ntheupperhandle, theauger c ontrol h andle isused toengage a nddisengage
drivetotheauger. S queeze thecontrol h andle against t heupperhandle to engage t he
auger; r elease i t todisengage.
Muffler
Engine exhaust e xitsthe engineviathe muffler.
ChuteRotation Control
The chuterotatecontrol i slocated i nthecenter o fthecontrol p anel a ndcontrols t he
direction snow isthrown.Depress thebuttonandrotatethechuterotation control t othe
rightto turnthe chute tothe rightandrotatetotheleft toturnthechute to theleft.
ChuteAssembly
The pitchofthedischarge chutecontrols theangleatwhichthesnow isthrown.Loosen
thewingknobontheside ofthe discharge chutebefore pivoting the discharge chute
upward ordownward. Retighten t he knobonce thedesired position has been achieved.
ShavePlate
Theshave platemaintainscontact w ith the pavement a sthe snowthroweris
propelled, a llowingsnowclose to the pavement's s urface to bedischarged.
Oil Fill/Dipstick
Engine oil levelcanbe checked a ndoil addedthroughthe oil fill.
Oil Drain
Engine oil canbe drained throughthe oil drain.
ffeadlight
Theheadlight i s located onthe uppercenterof thecontrolpanelandisonwhenthe
snowthroweris running.
Electric Starter Outlet
Requires t he useof athree-prongoutdoorextension cordanda120V powersource/
walloutlet.
Electric Starter Button
Pressing t he electric starterbuttonengages t heengine's electric starterwhenplugged
intoa 120V power source.
BeforeStarting the Engine
Read,understandandfollow all the instructionsandwarnings on the
machineandin this manualbeforeoperating.
Starting TheEngine
Alwayskeephandsandfeet clearof moving parts. Donot usea pressurized
starting fluid. Vaporsareflammable.
Toavoid carbonmonoxidepoisoning,makesurethe engine is outdoorsin a
well-ventilated area.

Makecertainthe augercontrol i s inthe disengaged (released) position.
Insertignitionkeyinto slot.Makesureit snaps into place.Donot attemptto
turn the key.SeeFigure 13.

ElectricStarter
Determine thatyourhome's wiring isathree-wiregrounded system. A ska licensed
electrician if youarenot certain.
Ifyouhavea grounded three-prongreceptacle, proceed asfollows:
Theextensioncordcan beany length, but must be ratedfor 15ampsat
125volts, groundedand ratedfor outdoor use.
Plug the extension c ordintothe outletlocated o ntheengine's s urface. Plug the
otherendofextension c ordintoathree-prong 120-volt, grounded, AC outletina
well-ventilated a rea See Figure 14.
