Loosen andremove the shoulder screw whichactsasabelt keeper. R efer t o
Figure 30.
Remove t he belt fromaroundthe augerpulley,andslipthe belt betweenthe
supportbracket a ndtheaugerpulley.SeeFigure 31.
NOTE: Engaging t he augercontrol w ill easeremoval a ndreinstallation of the
belt.
Reassemble augerbeltbyfollowing instructions inreverse order.
NOTE: DoNOT forgetto reinstallthe shoulder s crewandreconnect t hespring
to the frameafterinstallingareplacement augerbelt.
Performthe AugerControl t estoutlinedinthe Assembly section of this
manual.
Drive Belt
NOTE: Several components m ustberemoved andspecial t oolsarerequired in order
to replace the snowthrower'sdrivebelt. Contact t he nearest S ears Parts & Repair
Center t o have the drivebelt replaced.
FrictionWheel Removal
If the snowthrowerfailsto drivewith the drivecontrolengaged, andperforming
the drivecontrol c ableadjustmentfailsto correct t he problem,the frictionwheel
mayneedto bereplaced. F ollowthe instructionsbelow.Examine the frictionwheel
rubberfor signs ofwearorcracking andreplace wheelif necessary.
1.
Toprevent s pillage, r emove all fuel fromtank byrunningengineuntil it
stops.
2.
Place the shift leverinfirst Forward (F1)position.
3.
Carefully pivotthe snowthrowerupandforwardsothat it restson theauger
housing.
4.
Remove t he framecoverfrom the underside of the snowthrowerby
removing the self-tapping screws whichsecure it.
5.
Remove t he right-handwheelbyremoving the screwandbellwasher which
secure itto the axle.SeeFigure 32.
