message comes right after you have completed a turn and are starting a new leg: the voice message is
preceded by a lower pitched tone. The second message comes toward the end of the leg depending on how
fast you are progressing: this message is also preceded by a lower pitched tone. The last message on the
route leg comes right before a turn and is preceded by a higher pitched tone.
• Guidance and Status: the unit speaks guidance messages during route navigation, as well as status
messages such as "battery power low" and "lost satellite reception."
• Route Guidance: the unit speaks guidance messages during route navigation.
• SPEAK Key Only: the unit only speaks when the SPEAK key is pressed (it will not talk otherwise).
Touchscreen Tone
Allows you to turn the touchscreen click sounds On or Off.
Attention Tone
Determines whether the voice prompts are preceded by a chime.
Keypress Tone
Allows you to turn the keypress beeper sounds On or Off. A beep confi rms that a key on
the unit or remote has been pressed.
'Guidance' Tab
Off-Route Recalculation
Controls how the StreetPilot 2610/2650 recalculates the route when you
depart from the route ('Prompted', 'Automatic - Announced', 'Automatic - Silent', and 'Off').
Next Turn Pop-Up
Controls when the Next Turn page is displayed ('Off', 'SPEAK Key Only',
'Automatic Only', 'Both').
'Routing' Tab
The Routing Tab allows you to customize the routing features of the StreetPilot 2610/2650.
Route Preference
Determines which criteria are used for fi nding the route to your destination. The fol-
lowing options are available:
• Faster Time: this setting causes time to be used as the criteria for calculating your route. The routes
calculated with this setting is faster to drive but may be longer in distance.
Reference
System Setup
By selecting "SPEAK Key Only" on the 'General' tab
under the 'Voice' function, the unit only talks when
the SPEAK key is pressed.
The 'Attention Tone' fi eld determines whether voice
prompts are preceded by a chime.
