Figure 8 illustrates a single VLAN that spans two Switch 9100 devices. All
ports on both switches belong to VLAN Sales . The two switches are
connected using port 1 on Switch 1, and port 6 on Switch 2.

To create multiple VLANs that span two switches in a port-based VLAN, a
port on Switch 1 must be cabled to a port on Switch 2 for each VLAN you
want to have span across the switches. At least one port on each Switch
9100 must be a member of the VLANs, as well.
Figure 9 illustrates two VLANs spanning two switches. On Switch 1, ports
1 through 3 are part of VLAN Accounting ; ports 5 through 8 are part of
VLAN Engineering . On Switch 2, ports 1 through 3 are part of VLAN
Accounting ; ports 5 through 8 are part of VLAN Engineering .
