Belt tensioners

The front seat belts are fitted with belt
tensioners. The seat belts are pulled down
at the buckles on a front or rear impact
above a certain severity. This tightens the
belts.
Actuation of belt tensioners
is indicated by illumination of control
indicator v, see next column.
The belt tensioners must be replaced after
activation. We recommend that you
consult your Vauxhall Authorised Repairer.
Important information – page 114.
Control indicator v for belt tensioners
The function of the belt tensioners is
monitored electronically together with the
airbag systems and the deployable anti-
roll bars 3. Their operational readiness is
indicated by control indicator v in the
instrument panel. When the ignition is
switched on, the control indicator
illuminates for approx. 4 seconds. If it does
not illuminate, does not go out after 4
seconds or illuminates whilst driving, there
is a fault in the belt tensioner or and airbag
systems or in the deployable anti-roll
bars 3, – page 123. The systems may fail
to trigger in the event of an accident.
Deployment of the belt tensioners is
indicated by continuous illumination of v.
