Propagating (Copying) Security Settings from one Intellex to Another

This figure presents the Propagate Security Settings dialog box, which allows you to copy
instrument settings from one instrument to one or more other instruments.
A directory tree contains a list of zones and member instruments. The check box to the left of a
name indicates whether or not an item receives the new settings. The check box opposite the
zone name itself indicates the current zone state. Determine (or calculate) the zone state by
applying the following rules:
1 If no instruments are checked, the zone state is none, and no check mark appears in the check
box.
2 If at least one, but not all, zone members are checked, the zone state is partial, and the check
box is checked against a gray background.
3 If all zone members are checked, the zone state is all, and the check box is checked against a
white background.
