Using the closed
caption
feature
You have two options with the dosed
caption
feature: captions
or text.
A caption
is a printed version of the dialogue,
narration and/or
sound
effects ofa TV program. Text is information
not related to the
program that appears
on half or full screen of the TV.
To view captions
or text:
1. Select the desired program. The captioned
programs are usually
marked in your local TV listing by "CC."
2. Press MENU,
then press < or _, until the C.CAPT
menu appears.

4. Press 4 or _ to select the closed caption mode.
• Select C1, C2, C3, or C4 to view captions. Select C1 for
translation of the primary language in your area.

Note:
A closed caption stgnalmay not be decoded
in the following situattons:
when a video tape has been dubbed
when the stgnaireception is weak
when the signal reception is non-
standard
Whenyou choose a closed captioned channel
and the text mode, [he text screen always
appears. When there is no signal, however,
the text screen will not display texZcharacters.

5. To turn off the closed-captioned

select OFF in step 4.
