SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS - Readbeforeoperatingequipment
Thisproduct w as designed and manufactured to meetstrict qualityand
safetystandards. Thereare, however, s omeinstallation and operation
precautions which youshould beparticularly awareof.
1.
ReadInstructions - Allthesafetyand operating i nstructions should
bereadbefore theappliance i soperated.
2.
RetainInstructions - The safety and operating i nstructions s hould
beretained for futurereference.
3.
HeedWarnings - Allwarnings o ntheappliance a nd in theoperating
instructions should beadhered t o.
4.
FollowInstructions - Alloperating and useinstructions shouldbe
followed.
5.
WaterandMoisture - Theappliance s hould not beused nearwater
- for example, neara bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink,laundry tub,
ma wetbasement or near a swimming p ool,etc.

Carts and Stands - Theappliance s hould beused onlywitha cartor
stand thatisrecommended bythemanufacturer.

with care. Quickstops,excessive force,and uneven
surfaces maycause theappliance a ndcart combination
to overturn.

Wall or CeilingMounting - Theappliance s houldbemounted to a
wallor ceiling onlyasrecommended bythemanufacturer.
8.
Ventilation - Theappliance s hould besituated sothatitslocation or
position doesnotinterfere withits proper ventilation. Forexample,
the appliance s houldnotbesituated ona bed,sofa,rug, or similar
surface that may blockthe ventilation openings; o r, placed in a
built-in installation, suchas a bookcase o r cabinetthatmayimpede
theflow of airthrough theventilation o penings.

Heat- The appliance s houldbe situated away from heatsources
such as radiators,heat registers,stoves,or other appliances
(including a mplifiers) thatproduceheat.
10. Power Sources- The appliance shouldbe connected to a power
supply onlyofthetypedescribed intheoperating instructions or as
marked ontheappliance.
11. Power-Cord Protection- Powersupply cordsshouldbe routedso
thattheyarenot likely to bewalkedonor pinched byitemsplaced
uponor againstthem, paying particular attentionto cordsand
plugs, c onvenience receptacles, andthepointwhere theyexitfrom
theappliance.
12. Cleaning - Theappliance s hould becleaned onlyas recommended
bythemanufacturer.
13. PowerLines- An outdoor a ntenna shouldbelocatedawayfror,
power lines.
14. Outdoor A ntenna Grounding - If anoutside antenna is connected to
the receiver, besuretheantenna system is grounded soas to pro-
vide someprotection againstvoltagesurgesand built up static
charges.
Section810 oftheNational Electric C ode, A NSI/NFPA No.70-1984,
provides i nformation w ithrespect to proper grounding of themats
andsupporting s tructure grounding o f thelead-in wireto an anten-
na discharge u nit,sizeof grounding connectors, location of anten-
na-discharge unit,connection to grounding electrodes a ndrequire-
ments for thegrounding electrode. SeeFig.below.
15. Non-usePeriods- Thepowercord of the appliance shouldbe
unplugged f romthe outletwhenleft unused for a longperiodof
time.
16. Objectand LiquidEntry - Careshould betaken sothatobjects do
notfall and liquids arenotspilled intothe enclosure t hrough open-
ings.
17. DamageRequiring Service - Theappliance should be serviced by
qualifiedservice personnel when:
A. Thepower supply cordor theplughasbeen damaged; or
B. Objects havefallen,or Jiquid hasbeenspilledintothe appli-
ance; o r
C. Theappliance h asbeen exposed t o rain;or
D. Theappliance d oesnotappear t o operate normally or exhibits
a marked change inperformance; or
E.
Theappliance h asbeen dropped, ortheenclosure d amaged.
18. Servicing - The usershouldnot attemptto service the appliance
beyond thatdescribed i ntheoperating i nstructions. Allother servic-
ingshould bereferred t oqualified service personnel.

CAWsystem installer's a ttention t o Article 820-40 ofthe NECthatpro-
vides guidelines for proper grounding and,in particular, specifies t hatthe
cableground shallbeconnected to thegrounding system ofthebuilding,
as close to thepoint ofcableentry as practical.
