RECORDING VIDEOS
This camcorder supports both High Definition (HD) and Standard Definition (SD) image
resolutions. Set your desired resolution before recording. _-,page 62

• Insert a memory card. _page 32

• Select the Video record (4_) mode by pressing the MODE button.

1. Select a subject to record.
• Adjust the LCD panel to the best angle for recording.
Use the Zoom lever or Zoom button to adjust the size of the
subject. _page 44
2. Press the Recording start/stop button.
The recording (o) indicator appears and recording starts.
3. To stop recording, press the Recording start/stop button again.
When you use the built--in microphone for recording,
the microphone may record the mechanical noise of the
camcorder. When you record in a quiet environmerlt, we
recommend that you use an external microphone.
Connect an exlernal mk;rophone (not supplied) to the external
microphone jack of this camcorder.
• The internal microphone is automatically turned off when you attach an external microphone.
,* Zoom MIC and Voice Reduction functions are automatically turned off.
,* The senskivity level may differ depending on the microphone. Use the MIC Level menu to find the
appropriate recording sound level. Otherwise, loud sounds may produce distortion.
