AIR FILTER MAINTENANCE
Cleaning the Air Filter

ARNING: To avoid serious personal injury,
always turn your trimmer off and allow it to
cool before you clean or do any maintenance
on it.
Clean and re-oil the air filter every 10 hours of operation.
it is an important item to maintain. Not maintaining the
air filter will VOID the warranty.
1. Place the choke lever between the RUN (B) position
and the START (A) position (Fig. 25),

Remove the air filter cover by pulling up the two tabs
on the bottom back of the cover, then pull out and
up (Fig. 25).

Remove the air filter (Fig. 25).

5. Apply enough clean SAE 30 motor oi_to lightly coat
the filter (Fig. 27).

6. Squeeze the filter to spread and remove excess oil
(Fig. 28).

Reinstall the filter (Fig. 29).

Wash the filter in detergent and water (Fig. 26). Rinse
the filter thoroughly and allow it to dry.

8. Reinstall the air filter cover by positioning the notch
on top of the air filter cover onto the tab at the top of
the back plate. Be sure the choke lever in the RUN
(B) position (Fig. 25).
9.
Using two fingers on either side of the air filter cover
and back plate, squeeze together until the cover
snaps into place (Fig. 25).
NOTE: If the unit is operated without the air filter, you
will VOID the warranty,
