AllPENTAX cameras purchased through authorized bona f ide
photographic distribution channels are guaranteed against defects of
material orworkmanship foraperiod o ftwelve months from date of
purchase. Service will b erendered, and defective parts w ill b ereplaced
without cost t oyou within t hat p eriod, provided the equipment does n ot
show evidence ofimpact, sand o rliquid d amage, mishandling, tampering,
battery orchemical corrosion, operation contrary tooperating instructions,
ormodification byanunauthorized repair shop. The manufacturer orits
authorized representatives shall not b eliable f orany repair oralterations
except those m ade w ith itswritten c onsent and shall not b eliable f or
damages from delay o rloss ofuse orfrom other indirect orconsequential
damages ofany kind, whether caused bydefective material or
workmanship orotherwise; and itisexpressly agreed that t he liability of
the manufacturer oritsrepresentatives under all g uarantees orwarranties,
whether expressed orimplied, isstrictly limited tothe replacement ofparts
ashereinbefore provided. Norefunds will b emade o nrepairs bynon-
authorized PENTAX service facilities.
Procedure During 12-month Warranty Period
Any PENTAX which p roves defective during the 12-month warranty period
should bereturned tothe dealer from whom you purchased the equipment
ortothe manufacturer. Ifthere a renorepresentatives ofthe manufacturer
inyour c ountry, send t he equipment tothe manufacturer, with postage
prepaid. Inthis case, itwill t ake aconsiderable length o ftime before the
equipment can bereturned toyou owing t othecomplicated customs
procedures required. Ifthe equipment iscovered bywarranty, repairs will
bemade a nd parts replaced free ofcharge, and the equipment will b e
returned toyou upon c ompletion ofservicing. Ifthe equipment isnot
covered bywarranty, regular charges ofthe manufacturer orofits
representatives will a pply. Shipping charges are tobeborne b ythe owner.
Ifyour P ENTAX was purchased outside ofthecountry where y ou wish to
have i tserviced during the warranty period, regular handling and servicing
fees may becharged bythe manufacturer's representatives inthat
country. Notwithstanding this, y our PENTAX returned tothe manufacturer
will b eserviced free ofcharge according tothis procedure and warranty
policy. Inany case, however, shipping charges and customs clearance
