Remounttheouter spindlebeltcoversremovedearlier.
Reinstallthe deck makingsurethe beltremainsroutedaroundthe
pulleysas instructed.
Reinstallthe deck swayrod(See Figure13)and deck stabilizer
rod (See Figure14).
Pull the rightside ofthe beltand placethe narrowV side of
the belt intothe PTOpulley.See Figure10 in CUTTINGDECK
REMOVAL and Figure17below.

13. Replacethe PTOPulleybelt guard removedin step 4 of CUT-
TING DECKREMOVAL.
NOTE: Insertthe beltguard intothe beltguard slot of the PTOpulley.

CUTTING BLADES
Shutthe engineoff and removeignition key beforeremovingthe
cuttingblade(s)for sharpeningor replacement. P rotectyourhands
usingheavy gloveswhengraspingthe blade.
Periodically inspectthe blade and/orspindlefor cracksor damage,
especiallyafter you'vestrucka foreignobject.Do notoperatethe
machineuntildamagedcomponents are replaced.
To removethe blades,proceedas follows.
1. Removethe deck from beneaththe tractor,(referto CuttingDeck
Removal o n page21) thengently flipthe deck overto exposeits
underside.
2. Placea block of woodbetweenthe centerdeck housingbaffle
and the cuttingbladeto act as a stabilizer. S ee Figure18.
3. Removethe hexflangenut that securesthe bladeto the spindle
assembly.See Figure18.

pulleyto the left (See Figure17).Continueholdingand rotating
the pulleyand beltuntilthe belt isfully rolledintothe PTOpulley.
