Programming the Remote
NOTE:Toremove the ChannelControlPunch-
Throughandreturnthe remoteto its originalcon-
figuration,repeatthe stepsshown above.
However, p ressthe samebuttonin Steps1and 3.
TransportControl Punch-Through
TheAVR120'sremotemay be programmed to
operatesothat the TransportControl
Functions(_) (Play, S top,FastForward, R ewind,
Pause and Record) f or a VCR, c assette deck, DVD
or CDwill operatein conjunctionwith oneof the
otherdevicescontrolledbythe remote.Forexam-
ple,while usingandcontrollingthe TV,you may
wish to startor stop yourVCRor DVDwithout
havingto changethe deviceselected bythe
AVR120or the remote.Toprogram the remote
for Transport C ontrolPunch-Through, follow
thesesteps:
1. Press the Input Selector_!_ for the device
youwill be using(e.g.,TV)when youwish to
haveTransport C ontrolPunch-Through a ctive
andthe Mute Button _
at the sametime
until the red light appears underthe Input
Selector_
andthe Program Indicator
flashesamber.
2. Press the Play Button (_). TheProgram
Indicator_
will stop flashingandstayamber.
3. Press and release the Input Selector Button
for the devicewhosetransportmechanism
will be controlled(e.g.,DVD, C D).TheProgram
Indicator _
will blink greenthreetimesand
thengo out to confirmthe data entry.
Example:Tocontrolthe transportof a DVD
playerwhilethe remoteis setto control the TV,
first pressthe VID2/TV Input Selector
Button _
andthe Mute Button _
at
the sametime. Next,releasethem and press
the Play Button (_), followed by the DVD
Input Selector Button 41_.

Reassigning Device Control
Selectors
AlthougheachInput Selector _
is normally
assigned to the categoryof productshown on the
remote,it is possibleto reassign oneof thesebut-
tons to operatea seconddeviceof anothertype.
Forexample, i f you havetwo VCRs but no satellite
receiver, y ou mayprogramthe "SAT"buttonto
operatea second VCR.Beforefollowing the nor-
mal programming stepsfor eitherThree-Digit e ntry
or Auto Search codeentry,youmustfirst reassign
the buttonwith the following steps:
Pressthe Input Selector 41_ you wish to
reassign andthe Mute Button _
at the
sametime untilthe red light appearsunderthe
Input Selector_
andthe Program
Indicator _
flashesamber.
2. Press the Input Selector 41_ for the device
type you wish to program into the reassigned
button.
3. Enterthe three-digitcodefor the specific
modelyou wish the reassigned button to
operate.

Pressthe sameInput Selector_
pressed in
Step1 onceagainto storethe selection. T he
red LEDunderthe reassigned InputSelectorwill
flashthreetimesandthen go out.
Example:Tousethe CBL/SAT button to oper-
ate a secondVCR,first pressthe CBUSAT
Input Selectorql_ andthe Mute Button
at the sametime until the red light glows
underthe CBL/SATButton _.
Press the
VCRButton _,
followedby the three-digit
codefor the specific modelyou wish to control.
Finally,pressthe CBL/SAT Button _
again.
Resetting the Remote Memory
Asyou add components to your hometheater
system, o ccasionally y ou maywish to totally repro-
gramthe remotecontrolwithout the confusionof
any commands, macrosor "Punch-Through" p ro-
grammingthat you mayhavedone.Todo this,it is
possibleto resetthe remoteto the originalfactory
defaultsandcommandcodesbyfollowing these
steps.Note,however, that oncethe remoteis
reset,all commands or codesthat youhave
enteredwill be erasedandwill needto be
reentered:
1. Press any of the Input SelectorButtons
andthe "O" Button _
at the sametime
until the Program Indicator _
beginsto
flashamber.
2. Pressthe "3" Button I[_ three times.
3.Thered LEDunderthe Input Selector 41_ will
go out andthe Program Indicator _
will
stop flashingandturn green.
4. TheProgram Indicator _
will remaingreen
until the remoteis reset.Notethat this may
take a while,dependingon how manycom-
mandsare in the memory and needto be
erased.
5.Whenthe Program Indicator _
goesout,
the remotehas beenresetto the factory
settings.
