Speed
Control
Dial

The
speed

dial
(B) allows
you
to
increase
or decrease
the
speed
from
7,000-t2,000
orbits
per
minute.
The optimal

each
application
is very
much
dependent

Generally,
you
will
want
to use
a higher
setting
on harder
materials
and
a
_ower setting
on softer
materials.

increases
as speed
increases.
Pad
Brake
The_
sanders
are
equipped
with
a pad
brake
that
prewnts
over-speeding
of the
pad
_f the
tool
is lifted
off
the
work
surface

motor
is running,

brake
will
lirnit
pad
rotation
to
no more
than
500
RPM.
The
piastic
pad
blake
is used
to provide
the
braking
action.
Eventually,
this

replace

brake

your
sander,
grasp
it as shown
in Figure
8 and
turn
it on.
Move

surface,

work
