TO ADJUST CARBURETOR
The carbereterhas been presetat the factory
andadJus_nent s houldnotbe necessary.
However,miner adjusknentmay be required
to compansatefer differancas in fuel,

In general,turningthe adjustingneedles In
(dockwlee)decreasesthe supplyoffuel to
the enginegMng a leaner fuel/air mixture.
Turningthe adjustingneedlesout (counter-
clockwise)lecreases the supplyof fuel to the
enginegivinga _
fueVairmixture.
IMPORTANT: Damage to the needlesand
seatsb carburetormay resultif turnedin too

NOTE: The carburetoron thisengine is low
e_.
It is equippedwith an idlefuel
adjustingneedlewith a limltercap, which
alows some adjusthlent withinthe limits
alowed bythe cap. Do not attemptto remove
the limltercap. The limitercap cannotbe
removedwi_oot breakingthe a_usting
needle.
1. Be sure youhave a cleanair filterand the
throifiecontrolcable is adjustedproperly
(seeabove).
2. Startengineand allow to warm for five
minutes. Make edjus_'_entswith engine
runningand sh_tJan
controllever in
neuV_ (N) pesiUan.
3. Idlespeed setting- WiththroifiecooV_
lever in slow po.si_on, engine shouldidle
at 1750 RPM. Ifencjineidles too sl_v or
fast, turnidle speed a_justingscrewin or
out L_I correctidle isattained.
4. Idlefuel needle setlJng - Withthrottle

High speed stop is factory adjusted. Do
not adjust - damage may result.
IMPORTANT: Never tamper with the
engine governor, which is factory set for
proper engine speed. Overspeeding the
engine above the factory high speed
setting can be dangerous. If you think the
engine-governed high speed needs
adjusting, contact a Sears or other
qualified service center, which has proper
equipment and expedence to make any
necessary adjustments.
