Planning for previous models

Continuous Access Journal Z can be used to perform remote copy operations between P9500 and
XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array. Data can be copied from P9500 to XP24000/XP20000 Disk
Array, or vice versa.
To execute remote copy from P9500 to XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array or vice versa, set up the
following:
Configure a logical path between LDKC00 of the P9500 system and the XP24000/XP20000
Disk Array.
More than one XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array can be connected to LDKC00 of P9500.
LDKC01 cannot be used.
You can use the configuration instructions in this guide to set up the system. See
operations" (page 55)

P9500 corresponds to a new system of the above-mentioned figure. XP24000/XP20000 Disk
Array corresponds to a new system of the above-mentioned figure.
Set up the P9500 volume using a CU:LDEV number between 00:00 to EF:FF. As mentioned
above, the volume must be on LDKC00.
Up to 32,768 volumes can be used for volume pairs.
P9500 and XP24000/XP20000 Disk Arrays can be set up in 3-data center (3DC) cascading
or multitarget configurations. These configurations are used when combining Continuous
Access Synchronous Z and Continuous Access Journal Z systems. See
Journal Z configurations with Continuous Access Synchronous Z" (page 130)
configurations. There are no restrictions for combining primary and secondary sites between
P9500 and XP24000/XP20000 Disk Arrays.
If you connect a P9500 with an XP24000/XP20000/XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array, check
the HP Storage, Single Point of Connectivity Knowledge (SPOCK) website for array, firmware,
configuration compatibility, and contact your HP representative for information on the XP12000
Disk Array and the XP24000/XP20000/XP10000 Disk Array DKCMAIN program verison.
If you connect a P9500 with an XP12000 Disk Array, CU:LDEV number from 00:00 to 3F:FF
can be used for P9500, but 40:00 or larger cannot be used.
