Restriction
If you are managing Storage Arrays with the
Host-Agent software, do not download an
NVSRAM configuration settings file with the
Access Volume Disabled
deletes the Access Volume on Host-Agent
Managed Storage Arrays, causing those
Storage Arrays to become inaccessible.
Some Vixel Rapport 2000 FC hubs have
displayed problems when running controllers
using firmware version 4.00.x as redundant
devices. Problems include loss of data integrity,
system instability, and disrupted loop activity.
After pulling all drives from a Storage Array, the
storage management software prompts you for
a password when you start the software or
when you perform protected operations. Any
password you enter fails.
If you use Volume Migration, all drives being
added to a Storage Array must be optimal, or
you will lose access to your data. Also, all
drives being added to the Storage Array must
be unassigned.
Volume Migration is when you remove a set of
drives configured with volumes from one
Storage Array and insert them into another
Storage Array.
Workaround
If you download NVSRAM files to a Host-Agent
Managed Storage Array using the
select an NVSRAM file in the NVSRAM
attribute. Doing so
Download File Selection area, and then check
the File Information to ensure that the file does
not contain the
attribute.
If you accidentally delete the Access Volume,
contact your customer support representative
for assistance.

for assistance with identifying the particular
models of Vixel Rapport 2000 FC hubs that are
not recommended when your system must
operate in a controller or I/O path fault-tolerant
environment.
Password information is stored on a reserved
area of each drive on the Storage Array. Each
drive stores a mirrored copy of the password
data. With no drives in the Storage Array, the
storage management software does not find
the password data when you attempt password
protected operations. Add one of the drives to
the Storage Array and reattempt the operation.
Before attempting Volume Migration, ensure
that all drives that are being added to the
Storage Array are optimal and unassigned.
