IMPORTANT
IMPORTANT: Always
use a fuse with the
same amperage capac-
ity for replacement.
Fuses
• A 20 ampfuse is installedin yourtractor'swiring
harnessto protectthe tractor'selectricalsystemfrom
damagecausedby excessiveamperage.
• If the electricalsystemdoes notfunction,or your
tractor'senginewill not crank,firstcheckto be
certainthat the fuse has not blown,
Thefuse can be foundinsideof the dash panel
behindthe batterytray. You may needto removethe
batteryto gain accessto the fuse.
A fiveamp fuse canalso be foundinsidethe dash
panel,This fuse is forthe 12volt poweroutlet,
Alwaysuse a fusewith the same amperagecapacity
for replacement.
Changing TransmissionDrive Belt
NOTE: Several c omponents mustbe removed, i nclud-
ing transmission steeringlinkagewhichwill haveto be
readjusted, i n orderto changethetractor'stransmission
drivebelt,ContactyourCubCadetdealerto haveyour
transmission drivebeltreplaced,
Hydrostatic Transmission
Keepthe area aroundthe transmissioncoolingfan
freeof grass and debrisat all times, The hydrostatic
transmissionis sealedat thefactory and is maintenance
free,The fluid levelcannot be checkedand cannotbe
changed,
Changing
the Deck Belt
WARNING: Besure to shut the engine
off, remove ignition key,disconnect
the spark plug wire(s) to prevent
unintended starting before removing
the belt(s).
WARNING:Avoidthe possibility of
a pinching injury. Do not place your
fingers on the idlerspringor between
the belt and a pulleywhileremoving
the belt.
All belts on yourtractorare subjectto wearand should
be replacedif anysigns of wearare present,
IMPORTANT:Do notuse substitutebelts.TheV-belt
foundon yourtractoris speciallydesignedfor optimal
performanceand servicelifefor yourdeck application.
Use onlyOEMoriginal replacement b elts.
Tochangeor replacethedeck belt on your tractor,
proceedas follows:
• Removethedeck from beneaththe tractor(referto
CuttingDeckRemoval o n page24)
Removethespindlecoversby removing the self-tap-
ping screwsthat fastenthem to the deck,See Figure
26.

the deck,Installthe newbeltaround thespindleand
idler pulleysas shownin Figure27.

Loosenthe hex screwfasteningthe idler pulley
to the idler armas necessaryto slidethe belt
from betweenthe idler pulleyand idler arm, See
Figure26.

againstthe idler pulley,Tightenthe hexscrewto
securethe idler pulley,

Routethe deck beltaroundthe spindlepulleys
and idler pulleysas shownin Figure28,
Reinstallthe spindlecoverson the deck usingthe
self-tappingscrews.Do not overtightenthe screws.
Reinstalling
the Cutting Deck
Thereare two methodsfor reinstallingthe mowerdeck on
the tractor,One methodinvolvesrotatingthe deckidler
armto relieveenoughbelttensionto allowthe belt to be
placedin eitherthe PTOpulleyor a deck pulley,Because
that methodis difficult,we recommendusingthe second
methodof rollingthe belt ontothe PTOpulley.
Installthe cuttingdeck as follows:
• Fromthe rightside of the tractor,slidethedeck under
the tractorand align the read deck hangerbracket
with the deck lift arms.
Slide thedeck forwardand placethe deck front
hangerrod intothe slotsof the deckfront hanger
bracket.Then slidethe deck rearwardsothat the
hangerrod is at the front of the slots.
Usingthe deck lift lever,lowerthe deck lift arms.From
eithersideof the tractor,pull the supportpin in the
deck rear hangerbracketoutward,alignthe deck lift
armhole with the deck supportpin and releasethe pin
so that it goesthroughthe deck lift arm. Repeaton the
othersideof the tractorto securethe deck.
