TROUBLESHOOTING CHART:

PROBLEM CAUSE
Engine clicks but
Weak or dead battery. 1
will not start
2 Corroded battery terminals. 2
3 Loose or damaged wiring. 3
4 Faulty solenoid or starter. 4
Loss of power
1 Cutting too much grass/too fast. 1
2 Throttle in "CHOKE" position. 2
3 Build-up of grass, leaves and 3
trash under mower.
4 Dirty air filter. 4
5 Low oil level/dirty oil. 5
6 Faulty spark plug, 6
7 Dirty fuel filter.
8 Stale or dirty fuel.

Recharge or replace battery.
Clean battery terminals.
Check all wiring.
Check/replace solenoid or starter.
Raise cutting height/rsduce
speed.
! Adjust throttle control.
Clean underside of mower
;housing.
Clean/replace air filter.
Check oil level/change oil.
Clean and regap or change spark
plug,
Replace fuel filter.
Empty fuel tank and refill tank wit_
fresh, clean gasoline.
Empty fuel tank and carburetor,
refill tank with fresh gasoline and
replace fuel filter.
Connect and tighten spark plug
wire.
Clean engine air screen/fins.
Clean/replace muffler.
Check all wiring.

Contact a Sears or other qualified
service center.
Replace blade. Tighten blade bolt
Contact a Sears or other
qualified service center.
Tighten loose part(s).
Replace damaged parts.
Check wiring, switches and
connections. If not corrected,
contact a Sears or other
