BELT REPLACEMENT
Sea Figure 4,9.
The sew is powered by a belt-driven motor. Periodioatly
check the belt for wear and replace it when nscessery.
Proceed as follows when replacement Is required:
•
Unplug the saw.

WARNING: Failureto unplugthe sew could resultin
accidental starting causing seriousInjury.
•
Pullsaw arm all the way down and engage the lock pin
to hold the sew arm in transport position,
•
Using a phillipsscrewdriver,remove the screws from
the belt cover.Carefully lift the belt cover offthe hous-
ing and set aside.
• Loosen the adjustment screws.
•
Loosenthe set screw on the motor housing,Push the
mot_r housing down unt'_l t here "Ls e noughstack Inthe
belt for It to be removedfrom around the pulleys,
•
Place the new belt (groovesturned to the Inside)
arouncithe bo'_ompul)ey.
• Push the motor housing down with one hand while
pulllngthe bert up and over fne second pulleywith the
other hand. Release themotor housing.
• Turn the belt by hand until you are certainit is properly
a)igned on the grooves of the pulleys.
•
Liftthe motor housingup and retightenthe set screw,
• Check belt tension by squeezing the belt. Using light
pressure,the beatshoutd de_ect approximately1/4 in.
NOTE=If belt tension is not correct, adjust the set
screw until tension is correct.
• Once belt tension Is correct, retightenadjustment

Reinstall
the belt cover with the phillips
screws.
