Linux SAN rules

This section describes the SAN rules for Linux.
For current storage system support, see the SPOCK website at http://www.hp.com/storage/spock.
You must sign up for an HP Passport to enable access.
Table 105
describes SAN rules for Red Hat Linux and SUSE Linux.

Linux multipathing coexistence support

HP does not support coexistence of different multipath products on the same server.

Heterogeneous server rules
Supports multipathing high-availability configuration in multiple fabrics or in a single fabric with
zoned paths.
Zoning is required when Linux is used in a heterogeneous SAN with other operating systems.
For HBA parameter settings, see

Zoning is required when Linux is used in a heterogeneous SAN with other operating systems.
Provides single-path support only.
Supports clusters (32-bit/64-bit).
Supports active/active or active/passives failover mode.
Supports boot from SAN. For more information, see
