6.5.12 Removing/Replacing the Glidepad Assembly

The procedure for removing and replacing the Glidepad Assembly is as follows:
1. Turn off the computer; disconnect the AC power adapter (if attached), and
remove the battery packs as described in Paragraphs 6.5.1 and 6.5.2.
2. Press the Cover Release Latch and open the notebook to a full 180 degree
position.
3. Remove the Keyboard Assembly as described in Paragraph 6.5.6.
4. Remove the Heat Sink Assembly as described in Paragraph 6.5.7.
5. Remove the Cover-Display Assembly as described in Paragraph 6.5.9.
6. Remove the Top Cover Assembly as described in Paragraph 6.5.10.

Turn the top cover over and locate the Glidepad PWB; disconnect cable
connectors CN21 and CN22 from the Main PWB assembly.
8.
Remove the six screws securing the Glidepad module and PWB to the cover
and remove these assemblies.
9.
Reassembly is the reverse of Steps 1 through 8.
