i When used for an extended
period of time, the camera
surface and the SD card may
become rather warm, but this is
not a malfunction.
Do not perform any of the
following operations while the SD
card is being accessed (the
status indicator is lit red).
h Remove the SD card
h Turn the camera off
h Insert or remove the USB
cable
h Expose the camera to
vibrations or shock.
Caution when disposing of or
transferring SD cards
i Using this camera or a computer
to format an SD card only
changes the file management
information and does not
completely delete the card data.
i It is recommended that the SD
card be physically destroyed, or
that this camera be used to
physically format the card if
giving it to someone else.
To physically format the SD card,
connect the AC adaptor to the
camera and proceed as follows.
Insert the SD card in the camera,
select [FORMAT] from Option
Setting Menu 2, and press the
SET button. Next select [DELETE
DATA], and press the SET button.
When the display to delete data
from the SD card appears, select
[YES], and then follow the on-
screen instructions.
i Managing the data in the SD card
is the responsibility of the user.
Caution when handling SD cards
i Do not allow grime, water or
foreign matter to adhere to the
terminals on the back of the SD
card.
i Do not leave cards in the
following places:
h Where exposed to high
temperatures, such as under
direct sunlight or near a heater
h Humid or dusty places
h Where exposed to extreme
temperature changes
(condensation may occur)
h Where exposed to static
electricity or electromagnetic
waves
i When not using, store the SD
card in its case.
About the LCD monitor
i If the LCD monitor is dirty, wipe it
clean with a soft cloth such as an
eyeglass cleaning cloth.
i Do not scratch or press the LCD
monitor with strong force.
i If you affix a screen protector
sheet to the LCD monitor, it may
become difficult to see.
i In an environment with extreme
temperature changes,
condensation may form on the
LCD monitor. Wipe it with a soft
cloth such as an eyeglass
cleaning cloth.
i When the camera has become
very cold, for example in cold
surroundings, the LCD monitor
will be slightly darker than usual
immediately after the camera is
turned on. Normal brightness will
be restored when the camera's
internal temperature rises.
