    Chapter 2: System Setup Before You Begin This chapter explains how to install the CPU, CPU heatsink, memory mod- ules, and hard drives. Instructions on inserting a PCI card are also given. Take note of the precautions mentioned in this section when installing your system.

    Installing Motherboard Components This section describes how to install components on to the motherboard, including CPU, memory modules and PCI card. Follow these instructions to install the motherboard components. 2.1.1 Removing the Chassis Cover Step 1: Unscrew the chassis cover. Step 2: Pull the chassis cover forwards and then lift it up to remove it from the chassis.

    2.1.2 Installing CPU and Heatsink Step 1: Locate the CPU socket and place the CPU on top of it. Step 2: Screw to secure the CPU.
  • Page 21 Step 3: Place the heatsink on top of CPU. Make sure to secure four (4) screws. Step 4: Screw to secure the heatsink.

    2.1.3 Installing Memory Step 1: Press the locking levers to a fully open position. Step 2: Install memory in pairs of same type and density for optimal performance. Gently press down the memory until it sits firmly into the slots. The locking levers pop up into place.

    2.1.4 Installing the HDD Step 1: First unscrew the HDD bay. Push the HDD bay backward and then lift it up.    Step 2: Install the hard drive into the HDD bay, then secure the hard drive with six (6) screws.
