Thread controller spring

Rule and control
The thread controller spring 1 must hold the needle thread under slight
tension from the highest position of the thread lever to the moment the
needle's eye penetrates the sewing material.
The thread controller spring 1 may only touch on the stop when the
needle has entered the sewing material up to the eye.
Caution: Danger of injury!
Turn off the main switch.
Check and set the thread controller spring only when the sewing
machine is switched off.
Adjustment
Spring travel
–
Loosen screw 6.

Turn the spring rest 3.
When the needle penetrates into the sewing material, the upper
edge of the spring rest 3 must be positioned at the middle 2 of the
thread tension.

Tighten the screw 6 again.
Spring tension
–
Loosen screw 4.
–
Set the spring tension by turning the tension pin 5.
–
Tighten the screw 4 again.
Hint
The settings for the spring path and spring tension apply only for
normal thread thicknesses.
With extremely thick or thin needle threads or sewing materials other
settings may be required.
