2.9 - Installing Optional SO-DIMM Modules
Your Thunder h2000M S3992-E motherboard is equipped with an optional proprietary SO-
DIMM connector. The SO-DIMM connector can be used for expansion cards to provide
such features as, additional SAS/SATA II or SCSI support. For details of available
expansions cards, visit the TYAN website at http://www.tyan.com. To install a SO-DIMM
expansion card:
1.
Open the spring levers as shown.
2.
Insert the SO-DIMM card as shown, making sure
that the card is the right way up. The card will fit in
only one way and the screw holes in the card
should line up exactly with the mounting posts on
the motherboard.
3.
Push the SO-DIMM card down into place and
make sure the spring levers click into place as
shown.
4.
Screw the board into place using one or two
screws as required.
Removal of a SO-DIMM card is a reversal of the installation procedure. Push out the
spring levers as shown and pull the card out of the socket.
The SO-DIMM expansion cards will fit in the slot only one way. Make sure that you align
the slot in the card with the key in the card slot.
