USER INSTRUCTIONS
These User Instruction should be retained for future reference and for use by a person who is
perhaps unfamiliar with the appliance
The following models are covered by these instructions:
BT2450
BT2750
BT2790
USING THE GAS HOB
The symbols on the Control Panel Fascia show which Burner the Control Knob operates.
To ignite a Burner, press in the appropriate Control Knob and turn anti-clockwise to the
maximum position. Press the Ignition Button (marked by the star symbol) until the burner ignites.
On model BT2790, once the burner has ignited it will be necessary to continue holding the
control knob for a further 10 – 15 seconds to activate the flame failure device, then release the
knob slowly. If the flame is extinguished after releasing the control knob, turn the burner off, wait
30 seconds and repeat the operation as above.
If a gas burner fails to ignite within 15 seconds, turn the control knob off, wait 15 seconds and try
again.
To regulate the flame, continue turning anti-clockwise to the required setting.
To turn off a Burner, turn the knob fully clockwise.
Depending on the model, the following burners are provided:
•
Wok burner – for oriental-style dishes, rapid cooking or boiling large quantities of liquid.
•
Large (rapid) burner – for rapid cooking or boiling large quantities of liquid.
•
Medium (semi-rapid) burner – for general cooking.
•
Small (auxiliary) burner – for slow or gentle simmer cooking.
•
Fish kettle – for specialised cooking.
All burners are variable between the full and low positions.
HELPFUL HINTS
•
Always use the correct diameter pan, one that is the same or slightly larger than the flame
ring. The flame should never exceed the diameter of the pan.
•
The bottom of the pan should be flat
•
Whenever possible, keep the lid on the pan when cooking.
WARNING
•
Do not use commercial simmering aids as these can create excessive heat that can damage the
appliance.
