Connect to a volume in the SAN/iQ SAN using the iSCSI initiator.

In the MPIO Control Panel applet, click the Discover Multi-Paths tab, select the Add support for
iSCSI devices check box, and click Add.
The check box does not become active unless you are logged in to an iSCSI session.
The system asks to reboot for the policy to take effect. After the reboot, the MPIO-ed Devices tab
shows the addition of MSFT2005iSCSIBusType_0x9.

Connect to a volume using the iSCI Initiator and select the Enable multi-path check box.

Connecting volumes with MPIO

Once the P4000 DSM for MPIOor Microsoft DSM is installed on the server, all iSCSI volume
connections made to an iSCSI SAN will attempt to connect with the DSM. You do not need to configure
the multiple I/O paths manually.
NOTE:
The iSCSI Initiator Properties application has changed slightly for Windows Server 2008.
The following sections contain procedures for configurations you might use to connect volumes to
application servers. The procedures below include both Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server
2008 instructions.

If you are also using the Multi-Site SAN features, you can assign servers to specific sites to avoid
high-latency connections between sites. For more information, see the HP StorageWorks P4000

Connecting application servers with single or multiple NICs to volumes

Once the P4000 DSM for MPIO or Microsoft DSM is installed and the server is rebooted, all iSCSI
volume connections made to an iSCSI SAN attempt to connect using the DSM. You do not need to
configure the multiple I/O paths.
To connect to the volumes using the iSCSI Initiator:
1.
Open the iSCSI Initiator.
2.
On the Discovery tab, enter the VIP address of the cluster.
3.
On the Targets tab, select the volume to log on to.
4.
Click Log On.
