PCL-Specific
Variables
Variables
FONTNUMBER Font number. The valid range for this variable
depends on the currently set font source. If the
font source contains a default-marked font, the
values start at 0; otherwise, the values start at
1. The upper limit depends on the number of
installed fonts in the font source. For example,
if there are 50 fonts in the font source and
there is a default-marked font, the FONT-
NUMBER values range from 0 to 49. In the
same situation without a default-marked font,
the values range from 1 to 50.
The following variables are PCL-specific and can be set and
requested using PJL. These variables must be set using the
LPARM : PCL option. A sample value range is shown in this
table. See Appendix A for the actual value range for each
PJL printer, or use the INFO VARIABLES command to
request these values from the printer.
Note
These variables are listed in alphabetical order, not the
order they are used. The recommended order for setting
FONTNUMBER, FONTSOURCE, and SYMSET is
SYMSET first, then FONTSOURCE, then FONTNUMBER.
