Deployment to multiple remote hosts

The following figure illustrates the multiple-host deployment process.
To deploy components to multiple remote hosts using the GUI:
1.
Ensure all minimum requirements are fulfilled as described in
Integrity servers" (page
2.
Ensure that the components to be deployed are accessible to the administrative system and
are available in the same directory as the HP Smart Update Manager.

Create a script to customize the deployment. For more information, see

Execute the script.

First-time installations

The HP Smart Update Manager provides an easy-to-use graphical interface that enables you to
deploy and maintain software components. The HP Smart Update Manager is delivered with
the ISP and the SmartSetup CD. To start the deployment, run HPSUM.EXE.
After the initial splash screen, the Inventory Progress screen displays while the HP Smart Update
Manager builds an inventory of available updates.
