The COMSPHERE 6700 Series NMS Remote Monitor feature provides
innovative management support for the DSU, Dial, and APL family of modems in
a client/server environment.
The 6700 Remote Monitor feature provides the capability to monitor and perform
diagnostics from a client workstation on devices defined in other 6700 servers.
Prior to this feature, the client workstation could only be connected to one server
known as the Active Server.
The Remote Monitor feature provides the user with the ability to monitor Alerts,
Calls, and Security Events. Status Server device profiles can also be viewed.
In addition to all the features of the 6700 Series NMS, the Remote Monitor
feature provides the following capabilities:

Platform/Network Performance Monitoring
H
Knowledge of more than one NMS server
H
User-selectable active NMS server
The interface between the client and the server is accomplished via a TCP/IP
communication stack. The NMS server manages network information.
