speed dial Lets you call any phonebook entry just by entering
the one-, two-, or three-digit phonebook entry number, then

pressing and holding

standby mode Your phone may turn off the backlight to save
power when in standby mode. The backlight comes back on
whenever you press a key.
standby time The length of time your phone is on but not
used for talking.
status indicator See: indicator .
status light The light on top of your phone that indicates your
current type of service and message status. You can adjust this
setting.
submenu A secondary level of your phone's menu system
hierarchy.

TTY device A device that receives voice signals and displays
them as text.
talk time The total time that you can talk on the phone before
your battery is fully discharged.
text messages Brief text messages, sometimes including
phone numbers or Web addresses (URLs).
three-way call An analog network feature that lets you link
two other people so that the three of you can participate in a
