display card Browser information delivered in text form,
without line breaks or punctuation.
drafts folder Text messages that you have written but have
not sent yet.
DTMF tones See: Dual Tone Multi-Frequency tones .
Dual Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) tones The tones that
your telephone transmits when you press a keypad key. These
tones are used to access automated calling systems such as
voicemail, paging services, and banking-by-phone. These tones
are also heard by the party on the other line if you use the
scratchpad while a call is in progress. Synonymous with
scratchpad tones or touch tones.

editor A field in which you can enter text or numbers.
emergency numbers Programmed by your service provider,
you can dial these even when your phone is locked.
entry card A browser form that lets you enter information.
event A circumstance, such as the arrival of an incoming call,
that may trigger a new phone display or alert.
expiration period (outbox) The point when the network
stops trying to deliver a message you sent that is still unreceived.
