Error Messages and Beep Codes

during POST.

BIOS Beep Codes
Whenever a recoverable error occurs during POST, the BIOS causes the board's
speaker to beep an error message describing the problem (see Table 35).

BIOS Error Messages
Whenever a recoverable error occurs during POST, the BIOS displays an error
message describing the problem. Table 36 lists the error messages and provides a
brief description of each.

Three long beeps
Four alternating beeps:
High tone, low tone, high tone, low tone
Explanation
The battery may be losing power. Replace the battery soon.
The CMOS checksum is incorrect. CMOS memory may have been
corrupted. Run Setup to reset values.
Memory size has decreased since the last boot. If no memory
was removed, then memory may be bad.
System did not find a device to boot.
