The IP Storage Services Modules (IPS-4, IPS-8), Multi-protocol Services Module (14/2), and the MDS
9216i switch provide IP hosts access to Fibre Channel storage devices. The IP host sends SCSI commands
encapsulated in iSCSI protocol data units (PDUs) to a C-Series IP port over a TCP/IP connection. At
this point, the SCSI commands are transferred from an IP network into a Fibre Channel network and
forwarded to the intended target.
