Phone and Web search using text entry
1. Press the Search Key.
When you press the Search Key
Home screen or in other applications that
support this function, the Quick Search Box will
open automatically.
In some applications, such as Gmail, Contacts,
and Browser, the application's own search box
opens when you press the Search Key
indicated by the application's icon on the left side of
the search box.
2. Press the Menu Key
Enter the text you're searching for in the Quick
Search Box.
You can use the Search preferences to configure
some aspects of Google web search (for example,
whether it makes suggestions below the Quick
Search Box as you type), and what phone features
you want to include in searches.
3. Touch the Search icon to search for the entered
terms.

If what you want to search for what appears in the
suggestions list, touch that item to conduct the
search.
