Reliability, availability, and serviceability

Three important computer design features are reliability, availability, and
serviceability (RAS). The RAS features help to ensure the integrity of the data that
is stored in your server, the availability of the computer when you need it, and the
ease with which you can diagnose and repair problems.
Your server has the following RAS features:
v Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI)
v Automatic restart after a power failure
v Baseboard management controller (service processor)
v Basic input/output system (BIOS) code boot-block recovery
v Chipkill memory protection
v Cooling fans with speed control
v Customer support center 24 hours per day, 7 days a week
v Cyclic redundancy check (CRC) small computer system interface (SCSI) data
v Diagnostic CD
v Diagnostic LEDs on the system board
v Diagnostic support of Ethernet adapters and redundant array of independent
v Double-data-rate synchronous dynamic RAM (DDR SDRAM) with serial presence
v Error checking and correcting (ECC) memory
v Error codes and messages
v Failover Ethernet support
v Hot-swap drive bays (some models)
v Menu-driven setup, system configuration, RAID configuration, and diagnostic
v Microprocessor built-in self-test (BIST)
v Monitoring support for temperatures, voltages, and fan speed
v Peripheral component interconnect (PCI) bus parity
v Power-on self-test (POST)
v Predictive Failure Analysis
v Read-only memory (ROM) checksums
v Remote system problem-analysis support
v Status LEDs on the system board
v System error logging
v Upgradeable BIOS code and baseboard management controller firmware
v Vital product data (VPD), including serial-number information and replacement
v Wake on LAN capability
