    Installing VirusScan Software Preparing to install VirusScan software After inserting the McAfee VirusScan on your CD-ROM drive , you should see a VirusScan welcome image appear automatically. To install VirusScan software immediately, click Install VirusScan, then skip to Step 4 on page 16 to continue with Setup.

Because most anti-virus software operates at a very low level within your system, two anti-virus programs that compete for access to the same files or that perform critical operations can make your system very unstable.
