OPERATION
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Check Gearbox Bolts.
Check for missing Knives on
Cuttershaft.
Check to see if Knives are free
swinging.
Blade broken or bent.
Cuttershaft bent.
Drivelines not phased correctly.
Implement & Tractor yokes must
be in line.
Low on Lubricant.
Improper type lubricant.
Excessive trash build-up.
around gearbox.
Bearings or Gears set up.

Rough Gears.
Worn Bearing.
Damaged Belt Shield
(Rubbing on pulleys or belt)
Worn Bearing or Gear.
Damaged Oil Seal.
Bent Shaft.
Shaft rough in Oil Seal area.
Oil Seal installed wrong.
Oil Seal not sealing in the housing.
Oil level too high.
Sand hole in Casting.

POSSIBLE REMEDY
Tighten if loose.
Replace missing Knives.
Free Knives so they swing.
Replace Blades.
Replace Cuttershaft.
Replace Driveline.
Fill to Level Plug.
Replace with proper lubricant.
Remove trash.
Consult your Dealer.
Run in or change Gears.
Replace Bearing.
Straighten or replace Shields.
Replace Bearing or Gear.
Replace Seal.
Replace Oil Seal and Shaft.
Replace or repair Shaft.
Replace Shield.
Replace Seal or use a sealant on
OD of Seal.
Drain Oil to proper level.
Replace Castings or Gearbox.
Replace Gasket.
