Possible cause
The picture is too dark.
The flash was blocked
by your finger.
The subject was out of
the working range of the
flash.
The flash was set to [$]. Select a flash mode other than [$].
The subject was too
small and was backlit.
The sequential shooting
mode was used.
The center of the subject
is too bright.
The aperture value is too
high in A (M) mode.
The shutter speed is too
fast in S (M) mode.
The colors of pictures look unnatural.
Indoor lighting affected
the picture's colors.
No white in the picture.
The white balance
setting is wrong.
Part of the picture is dark.
The lens was partly
blocked by your finger or
the strap.
Corrective action
Hold the camera correctly, keeping your
fingers away from the flash.
Shoot within the flash working range.
Set the flash to [#], or set [ESP/n] to [n].
Higher shutter speeds are used during
sequential shooting, which may result in
pictures that are darker than usual. Set
[DRIVE] to [o].
If the center of the subject is too bright, the
image as a whole emerges darker. Adjust the
exposure compensation toward plus (+).
Decrease the aperture value or set the
camera to P mode.
Reduce the shutter speed or set the camera
to P mode.
Set the white balance according to the
lighting.
Include something white in the picture, or
shoot using [#].
Adjust the white balance according to the
light source.
Hold the camera correctly, keeping your
fingers and the strap away from the lens.
