General Product Care
• Avoid dropping the handset, as well as other rough treatment to the phone.
• Clean the phone only with a dry soft cloth.
• Never use cleaning agents, paint thinner, abrasive powder, alcohol, or other
chemical products to clean the unit. Doing so will damage the unit.
• Retain the original packaging in case you need to ship the phone at a later date.
Cause/solution
• You must subscribe to Caller ID service from your telephone
service provider.
• Make sure the base unit is plugged directly into a telephone
modular jack. If you are using a line with DSL service, make
sure you have properly installed the DSL filters supplied by your
service provider.
• You must subscribe to Caller ID with Call Waiting service from
your telephone service provider.
Cause/solution
• Make sure the answering system is on.
• The message memory may be full. Some messages will need to
be deleted.
• The system may be in use by another party.
• The system is busy recording a message.
• You must use a touch-tone telephone for remote access.
• Make sure you follow the remote access procedures in this
user's guide.
