2.4 Memory Support and Installation

Note: Check the Supermicro website for recommended memory modules.
Important: Exercise extreme care when installing or removing memory modules to
prevent any possible damage.
Memory Support
This motherboard supports up to 4TB 3DS RDIMM/RDIMM DDR5 (288-pin) ECC memory
with speeds up to 5600 MT/s in 16 DIMM slots. To enhance memory performance, do not
mix memory modules of different speeds and sizes. Please follow all memory installation
instructions given below.
Note: Memory speed and capacity support depends on the processors used in the
system. The 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors support DDR5 memory with
speeds up to 4800 MT/s (or up to 4400 MT/s in 32-DIMM configuration). The 5th Gen
Intel Xeon Scalable processors support DDR5 memory with speeds up to 5600 MT/s
(or up to 4400 MT/s in 32-DIMM configuration).
DDR5 Memory Support for 4th and 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable Processors
For your system memory to work properly, please follow the memory population tables below
to install the memory modules on your motherboard. These memory population tables were
created based on the general memory population guidelines provided by Intel to support
Supermicro X13DP motherboards.
