Section 3 - Handling, storage, and installation
The following figure shows the performance data for
VCCA-20ULS/VCCA-20-P condensate pump (155 V
and 230 V, 60 Hz).

This pump assembly has a black check
valve that prevents backflow into the
pump once discharged; the field must
install a loop trap at the highest point
but not to exceed maximum lift for this
pump.
Failure to install this loop trap could
result in failure to the check valve,
which would allow condensate to flow
back into the pump and may cause the
pump to short cycle repeatedly until the
pump fails.
The following image shows a field-installed loop trap
that is used to prevent over-pressuring the pump check
valve.

The condensate pump is factory-installed and piped to
the top area of the lower segment header piping area.
The pump discharge line is tagged
to let the field know that this must be
connected to the field drain before
running the AHUs.
Failure to comply can result in water
spraying over the unit and could cause
damage to the electrical components.
