Note: If you can not go into the sleep mode by tapping the screen or moving your phone, see
Lock screen
to check if the Tapping the display or Moving the phone feature is enabled.
• Awake mode: Your screen is fully illuminated in awake mode. When the screen is off or in sleep
mode, press the Power button or tap a notification to go into awake mode. In this mode, you can
make an emergency call (see
Quick
settings), control the media player you're using (see
preview feature, and more.
• Off: When your screen is in awake mode, it will be turned off after screen timeout (see
screen
to change timeout settings), or you can also press the Power button to turn it off.
Tip: To turn on or off the screen by just double tapping it, see
lock screen feature.
» Screen lock: To unlock the main lock screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen. To apply
security to the lock screen (recommended), see
» Notifications: Double-tap a notification to open it.
Tip: To prevent notifications from appearing in the lock screen, swipe up from the home screen
and tap
Settings > Notifications > Notifications on lock screen > Don't show any
notifications.
» Lock screen message: To add a message to your lock screen, such as your name in case your
phone gets lost, swipe up from the home screen and tap
Lock screen > Text on lock screen.
» Screen timeout: To change your screen lock timeout, swipe up from the home screen and tap
Settings > Display > Screen timeout.
