3. Install the PSU.
CAUTION: Do not insert a power supply that has power cables connected. Disconnect power
cords from outlets before starting.
a) Insert the PSU by sliding it into the opening, until a slight resistance is felt. The latch snaps into
place, confirming the installation is correct.
b) Insert the power cord into the PSU connector.
c) Insert the other end of the power cord into an outlet of the correct voltage.
d) Wait for the PSU LED to illuminate solid green. If the LED does not turn solid green, restart the
procedure, and ensure that the PSU is correctly seated.

Replacing a fan module

The 5149-N64 switch can work with one failed fan module. Operating with more than one failed fan
module is not supported.
1. Remove a fan module.
a) Extract the fan module by pulling the left side of the handle. As the fan module unseats, the fan
module status LED turns off.

b) Remove the fan module from the switch chassis.
2. Insert a fan module.
a) Insert the fan module by sliding it into the opening until slight resistance is felt. Continue pressing
the fan module until it seats completely.
b) Wait for the fan module LED to illuminate solid green. If the fan module LED does not turn solid
green, re-start the procedure and ensure the fan module is correctly seated.
