Some quick and easy tips to resolving problems
Symptoms
Using Remote Control
Remote does not work.
Remote does not operate
accessory product.
Menu Operation
Menu options can't be
changed or selected.
Timers do not work.
Clock is set, or sets itself, to Wrong Time
Clock time is wrong.
Picture Viewing Problems
Image looks wrong.
Snowy or Poor Picture
Picture has a big black box
on it, but the sound is O.K.
No picture.

Cause(s)
• Wrong mode selected.
• Not aimed at remote sensor.
• Remote too far from TV or
too much light in room.
• IR path to TV interrupted.
• Weak batteries.
• Wrong battery polarity.
• Product Mode not programmed.
• Product not IR controlled.
• Software lock-up.
• "Off" selected on menu.
• Clock not set.
• Wrong Time Zone.
• Daylight Savings Time wrong.
• Time does not set automatically.
• Auto Clock doesn't work.
• Wrong Video Menu Aspect Ratio.
• Wrong Ant. connection/location.
• TV/VCR button set wrong.
• Wrong tuning mode.
• Wrong output channels selected.
• Loose connection.
• Caption/Text mode turned on.
• AC power not plugged in?
• AC power outlet doesn't work.
• Menu options set wrong.
• Broadcast problem.
Possible Solution(s)
-Press correct mode key to change mode (TV for TV operation.)
-Point remote at Front Control Panel.
-Move remote closer to TV or darken room.
-Remove obstructions.
-Replace batteries.
-Check that "+" and "-" match in battery compartment. 9/10/11
-Program for other equipment: VCR, DVD, STB etc..
-Remote only controls IR equipment.
-Unplug power cord for 5 minutes to unlock software.
(Reset clock if necessary.)
-Choose "On" to make timer(s) work.
-Set clock.
-Reset to your time zone.
-If not observed in your area, set to Off.
-Set clock manually.
-Turn Auto Clock option "Off" in menu, set clock manually.
-Use correct aspect ratio for source's image: 16x9 or 4x3. 17/33
-Move antenna, check connection/location.
-Check cable input.
-Set TV/VCR button on your VCR correctly.
-Are you in TV or cable tuning mode, and should be in the other?
-Make sure output channels tuned on all A/V equipment are on the
same channel (3 or 4).
-Check that all connections are tight.
-The CC (closed caption) option may be in Text 1, 2, 3, or 4 mode.
-Select Caption 1, or OFF in the Caption/Text menu.
-Plug AC power cord in.
-Check that your AC power outlet works. (Test it by plugging in
something else or try another plug.)
-Make sure brightness controls are set properly.
-Try another channel.
