When the display station is operating without the system
program in control of the display screen format (that is, with an
unformatted display), the Clear command blanks the display
(with the exception of the cursor and the display screen
indicators). A system program can change the way this
command operates, making recovery from an accidental Clear
command possible. On some systems, you may have to set the
Power switch to the Off position to blank the display because
some system programs ignore the Clear command.
