TROUBLESHOOTING
neorrect operations are often mistaken for trouble and malfunctions. If you think that there is something wrong with
this component, check the points below. Sometimes the trouble may lie in another component. Investigate the other
components and electrical appliances being used. If the trouble cannot be rectified even after exercising the checks
isted below, ask your nearest PIONEER authorized service center or your dealer to carry out repair work.
Symptom
Cause
No sound from both or either
speaker.
® Power cord is unplugged.
@ BALANCE
control is set to max. Right or
left position.
@ Either plug of the speaker cord is discon-
nected.
@ Connect the power cord.
® Set the control to center position.
® Connect the plug securely.
Microphone mixing does not
operate.
@ Microphone is incompletely plugged.
® MIC volume control or MIC MASTER VO-
LUME control is set to minimum.
@ Plug the microphone completely
into the jack,
@ Adjust with the MIC volume con-
trol or MIC MASTER VOLUME con-
trol.
Remote control unit does not
work.
@ No battery is ioaded in the remote control
unit, or remaining service life is low.
@ A fluorescent lamp is near the remote con-
trol sensor.
@ The distance to the amplifier is too far, or
the remote control unit is pointed at an
improper angle.
@ An obstacle exists between the remote
control unit and the amplifier.
The auto input selector indica-
tors are flashing.
All auto input selector indica-
tors light; the KEY CONTROL
button doesn't operate and no
sound is produced.

@ Insert new batteries.
@ Place the fluorescent lamp away
from the amplifier.
@ Use the remote control unit within
a range of approximately 7 m and
at an angle of approximately 30
degrees or less.

erated, resulting in no sound).
@ Same as above (after rectifying the
problem, allow the amplifier to
cool sufficiently before turning it
on again).
<When the optional Song Re-
quest System KSS-V 100 is con-
nected>
MAIN VOLUME and MIC MAS-
TER VOLUME indicators do not
light.
@ The cord connecting the KSS-V100 is short
circuited.
@ Reconnect properly.
Abnormal functioning of this unit may be caused by static electricity, or other external interference. To restore normal operation, turn
the power off and then on again, or unplug the AC power cord and then plug it in again.
MAINTENANCE OF EXTERNAL SURFACES
@ Use a polishing cloth or dry cloth to wipe off dust and dirt.
@ When the surfaces are very dirty, wipe with a soft cloth dipped
in some
neutral cleanser diluted five or six times with water,
and wrung out well, and then wipe again with a dry cloth. Do
not use furniture wax or cleaners.
@ Never use thinners, benzine, insecticide sprays or other chemi-
cals on or near this unit, since these will corrode the surfaces.
